As Plano transitions from a period of rapid growth to a built-out community, city leaders recognized the need for a new approach to budgeting and long-range financial planning.  The “Fiscal Roadmap” initiative was launched to modernize the city’s financial management practices, strengthen collaboration across departments and promote data informed decision making.  The effort focuses on refining budget processes to balance slowing revenue growth with rising expenses including key outcomes for new policies on fund balance, cost recovery and capital maintenance.
